Suncast crafted the deck box in UV-resistant poly resin for stability and durability. The lid flips open on a rustproof hinge for quick entry. I bought the box last November. I live in Texas. It arrived in a flat box. The assembly was amazingly easy and fast. I have it nearly full with tools, cat litter, dog treats, etc. It is a nice size, but make sure that you know the measurements of the box to avoid being disappointed of your items not fitting.

It looks great on my porch. It has kept the weather out of it; it stays shut. I saw another review mentioning "no latch", it does not claim to have a latch and it does not have one. It is not a "safety box", it is a storage box. If you want to lock things up, this is not the box for you.

I will definitely purchase another Suncast Box. It is a great product at a great price.

A good buy, looks great, but no latch, March 4, 2011
Got a great price with free shipping at Amazon. The box arrived undamaged and was easy to put together. The box is plenty big to hold eight (smaller) chair cushions plus a set of grill tools. To our surprise, there is no latch to keep the top closed. We are using this box on a second floor deck at the beach. I will be very surprised if the lid does not blow open in the wind. We are going to have to figure out some way to latch it closed. Just can't figure out why they didn't include a simple latch.

I purchased this deck box to store all the outdoor toys that my grand kids have outside. I wasn't sure if it would be big enough, so I was pleasantly surprised to put it together and see just how big it was. It holds all of the smaller toys that I didn't want to be left outside in the yard. I am hoping that this will encourage the kids to put the toys away after playing, so that we will have them longer. I don't know about leaking rain water, as it hasn't been tested for that here, but I am pleased over all. I would have given it 5 stars if I were sure it wouldn't leak, so I will update later.

I got two of these storage benches; each at $50 and with free shipping. I'm very happy with the purchase. I had done my research before purchasing, and found this to be a very good price. Other places have these at a similar price from time to time, but the shipping charges are always prohibitive. I would recommend the benches...they were easy to assemble and serve the intended purpose quite well.
